Comfort Advisor
Grasshopper Heating & Cooling is seeking to add two salespeople, who are referred to as Comfort Advisors, to our team. The position will be based in Clifton Park, NY, but will serve the Capital Region and beyond. Our hiring process is thorough, but moves quickly for the right candidate.
About You
You are an accomplished salesperson with the ability to work from our headquarters and travel to visit customers and prospects. You have the ability to prospect consistently on the phone, in person, and at company trade events. Knowledge of the HVAC industry is preferred, but not required if you have a history of sales success in a complex selling environment, the ability to learn quickly, and can retain knowledge. You are adept at selling solutions that exceed $2500 to upwards of $20,000. You are well-spoken, can command a room’s attention, and have high energy levels. People consider you a leader and you consider a sales territory as your personal business. You are accustomed to tracking your sales behavior and metrics as a source of effectiveness and improvement. While already operating at a high level, you understand and accept training and coaching as a source of constant growth.
You must have a verifiable history of earning in excess of $90,000 and a need to quickly surpass $120,000. Top earners in the industry regularly surpass $200,000 in yearly earnings excluding company benefits. Salespeople are expected to earn at a high level, as our reputation, line of equipment, sales leads, and service provide ample opportunity for selling.

Job Description:
- Keep appointments with customers as scheduled.
- Ask customers for permission to place a job site sign when the job is sold.
- Spend most, if not all, of a Comfort Advisor’s time is spent on sales or sales-related activities in the field.
- Participate in training as requested.
- Perform full in-home assessment of client’s home
- Follow company procedures for generating referrals.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new sales for the company
- Start sales process in office
- Travel to customer’s home to present sales presentation
- Determine customer needs and provide solutions
- Present proposal at customer’s home in person
- Offer financing on all proposals
- Generate referrals
- Continuously refine communication skills to improve customer satisfaction
Requirements For Hire:
- No Criminal history (no criminal convictions). Must be able to pass a background check.
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service and communication skill.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn knowledge of indoor air quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions given
- Must have your own reliable transportation
- Valid NY Driver’s License with a clean MVR
- Critical thinker
- Must have working cell phone with internet connection
